That is why so many of our partnerships last for years, and some for more than a decade. Researchers, designers, business thinkers and engineers stay close to the people and the work.

Our name means sea in Northern Sámi. It reflects our roots, our resilience and the importance of working together.

2010 · Mearra begins

Founded by business and open-technology experts in Northern Europe. Technical depth and close client partnerships have been part of the story from the start.

2025 · Back in our own hands

The original founders repurchased the company in February 2025. Ownership returned to founders and employees, and Vesa Palmu returned as CEO.

2026 · Mearra again

After the Wunder years, we returned to our original name. The teams, relationships and engineering foundations continued; the next chapter adds stronger strategic design capability.

We built an app for hugs. Naturally.

Our own Hugs system lets colleagues thank each other for good work and everyday help. Those digital hugs also contribute to bonuses. Engineering a little appreciation into the working week felt like a good idea.

Curiosity has company

Knowledge sharing, technical guilds and open-source contributions give people space to learn together. We do not expect every good idea to arrive wearing a senior job title.
